Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done (Crown Business, 2002)

The authors describe the common characteristics of successful businesses.  It is the application of the discipline of execution to the three key processes of every business: selecting the right people and creating an effective team, strategy development as well as knowledge of operations and their implementation.  To accomplish that, they discuss with clarity the importance of the leader’s role in the selection of personnel as well as the need to lead the development of strategy and combine that with an intimate knowledge of operations…the resources needed to accomplish the mission and ensure they are in place.  The methodology to execute these processes is elegantly discussed in practical terms.
